Web Browser

A browser is a piece of software that acts as an interface between the user and the inner-workings of the Internet. Specially the World Wide Web. Browser are also referred to as web clients, or universal clients, because in the client/server model. The browser function the client program.

The browser acts on behalf of the user. The browser:

  • Contacts a web server and sends a request for information.
  • Receive the information and then displays it on the user’s computer.

Several different browsers like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, are available that enable us to view these web pages.
